Biography

I was born in 1953, in Dublin, Ireland, where I continue to live.

My full time professional training and work is that of a psychotherapist. I work in a public child and adolescent mental health team, dedicated to working with children, young people and their families.

I became interested in photography in 2003, having been an occasional holiday snapper prior to that.

One of my other passions is music, experienced both as a musician and as an avid listener and I bring this into my photography in every way I can, most notably through the images in my Crossroads and Series Of Dreams portfolios.

I am very interested in album art and in 2006 got the valued opportunity to work with one of my favorite composer and guitarist, Preston Reed, doing the photography for his 2007 album, Spirit.

I am a member of the photography community myfourthirds.com which was a learning ground for me when I took up photography proper in 2003. I have won a number of competitions there, been featured in their Hall of Fame, and have been published for four consecutive years 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 (cover) in their calendar. I have also had two images selected for publication in their My Four Thirds Book Of Images (Hard Station and Even Agent Smith Gets The Blues), awaiting publication.

I am also a member of artlimited.com (link here http://937.portfolio.artlimited.net/) and deviantart.com where I have also had a number of my images featured as well.

In 2006 I had three images nominated in the Spyder International B&W Awards (Abstract, Fine Art, Nature/Silhouette) and I was very pleased to achieve this, given the high standard of entries. One of my images was selected for publication (Leaves In An Early Morning Lake) in their Book Of Best Images 2007.

In March 2007 I was featured in the international Olympus E magazine with my composite image Hard Station. I was also made an honorary E Pro member by Olympus at that time.

My camera equipment of choice is Olympus. I use the E3 and E1 DSLR's and specialist pro level four thirds lenses.
